I would highly recommend, replacing the ink cartridges so you can clear the ink error. 6 press the resume button 4 times and then press the power button right away. 4 keep the power button held down, release the resume button and then press it twice. If the error comes comes back after completing the first scan, then I would recommend repeating the steps when you scan again. 2 press and hold resume button (triangle inside circle) 3 while resume held down, hold down the power button.
Depending on the model, the remaining ink volume screen on the display will show up gray if the remaining ink level detector is disabled.
